CAD Technician
My primary role on this project was in the capacity of a CAD Technician. I updated the construction drawings on a daily basis; also consulting with on site subcontractors who relied on my knowledge and expertise to complete their respective jobs more effectively.
Mandarin Translator
The other half of my job description was related to translating between languages. This project is CBI (Citizenship by Investment) -funded, in part by Chinese-speaking investors. That’s where my ability to communicate fluently in Mandarin comes in handy—especially in the arena of architectural design and construction.
Clerical duties
As a drafter, my role also included printing, organizing and distributing drawings: architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Conducting quantity takeoffs came into play as well; a job that required the compilation of spreadsheets that tabulate quantities for numerous fixtures and fittings intended for the villas.
